The Derby Twins concluded their series with the Liberal BeeJays with  a 9-5 victory in Jayhawk League action at Panther Field Thursday night.

Rightfielder Eric Shortell hit a three-run home run in the bottom of  the seventh inning as the Twins extended a one-run lead to 8-3 to  pull away for the victory.

Centerfielder Jordan Cruz also hit a two-run home run; catcher Ben  Theriot went 3-for-4 - all three hits were doubles - with two runs  and two RBIs; and first baseman Alex Martinez also went 3-for-4 with  two runs and a RBI. The Twins hit eight doubles in the win.

Starter Ben Graham went 6 1/3 innings to pick up the victory for the Twins. He allowed eight hits and three runs (two earned). He struck  out six and walked one in the win.

Earlier in the week, the Twins beat the Bee Jays 3-2 on Tuesday and lost to them 2-6 on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the Twins held down the Liberal Beejays to two runs, Jordan Cruz and Brent Voorhees provided the offense as the Twins won the first game of the series 3-2 in a well pitched game by both teams.

Cruz and Voorhees went deep for their fourth and eighth home runs respectively. Eric Gregerson shut down the Beejays through seven innings on one unearned run and one hit, Sam Janca went 1 2/3 innings before Chris Kaminski came on to strike out the final Liberal batter to pick up the save.

On Wednesday, Liberal scored three runs (two unearned) in the first inning as the Beejays beat the Twins  6-2. Willie Uechi led the Twins offense with three hits. ther Field.
