Derby Reporter to close after 47 years

GateHouse Media announced Tuesday that it is closing the Derby Daily Reporter, ending 47 years of continuous publication.

Derby Community Foundation Chair Jeff Boone, President, Northstar Comfort Services, Inc. and Derby Community Foundation President and COO, Theresa A. Hearn presented a check to Mayor Dion Avello Tuesday night to help fund the north entrance signage for High Park. The check for $2,836 is from the Greenscapers organization. The organization of volunteer gardeners will still exist, but it will be carried out with city assistance.
