Derby High School (DHS) DECA students recently returned from a conference in Atlanta, Ga., where Derby qualified more teams than they ever had before.

Derby DECA took six event teams to the 2008 International Career and Development Conference (ICD) held last week, and placed four events in the ICDC finals. 

From the four events in the finals, Derby DECA had the team of Chloe Browne and Jantzen Chase take second place internationally in the business and financial services marketing research event with Tendercare Lawn and Landscape.

 Tyler Thompson and Jessica Tormey placed in the top 10 internationally with an advertising campaign project with Drs. Branstetter and Sparks Optometrists.

Both of these teams beat out over a hundred other teams.

The other event teams placing in finals were:

• Mario Maldonado in business services marketing services.

• Caty Compton and Claire Compton in the hospitality and recreation marketing research event with At Your Service Catering.
